Happy Holidays! I've just finished up my last craft fair for a while. We're expecting our second child in January, so I'll be taking a break for a couple of months. Although I won't be making any new shirts, I do have plenty for sale in my Etsy Shop. Happy Shopping! |
Inspired by Kenner! I started this project of tie dyeing second hand baby clothes for my son, Kenner, before he was born. I loved the idea of "upcycling" used baby clothes. Now, as a stay-at-home mom, I use this project to keep me busy, sane and at home with my son. We live in Edgewood, New Mexico and I enjoy selling my Recycled & Revived clothing at Craft Fairs, Farmer's Markets and online. Check out My Etsy Shop for all my current items for sale. At the moment I'm not filling any custom orders, but come spring, I'll be back at it. In the Photo Gallery you'll find ideas and examples of my work. Please contact me with any questions, suggestions or requests! jen@tiedyedbabies.com |
Why Tie-Dye? Because it's fun! It's fun to make and it's fun to wear. The color options are endless. The results can be totally unpredictable or carefully designed and planned. Tie dye is perfect for babies - the inevitable stains blend right in! What's cuter than a little hippie newborn or a toddler in bright splashes of color? |
Why Batik? I like being able to create outfits to match the occasion. A pumpkin onesie for the local Pumpkin Chunkin, a hot air balloon for our day at the Balloon Fiesta or a turkey for Thanksgiving. Batik allows me to customize - names, messages and logos. The process begins with wax painted on the fabric in the desired design. The wax resists the dye but cracks and creates a unique texture in the design. Like tie dye, the results can be unpredictable or carefully planned, but are always unique! |
